See the full list of standards for Chimney testing. We are ready to perform tests on our facilities or yours.
EN 1443
Chimneys: General requirements
This European Standard specifies sootfire resistant chimneys, flue liners, connecting flue pipes, fittings and accessories for combustion appliances burning solid, liquid and gaseous fuels and non-sootfire resistant chimneys, flue liners, connecting flue pipes, fittings and accessories for combustion appliances burning liquid and gaseous fuels only. It also specifies sootfire safe accessories for combustion appliances burning solid, liquid and gaseous fuels.
EN 1457
Chimneys: Clay/ceramic flue liners
A product standard for clay/ceramic flue liners operating under dry conditions with solid walls or walls with vertical perforations for use in the construction of multiwall chimneys and flue pipes which serve to convey products of combustion from fireplaces or heating appliances to the outside atmosphere by negative or positive pressure. It includes the flue liners used for domestic and industrial chimneys which are not structurally independent (free-standing). This European Standard specifies the performance requirements for factory made flue liners and chimney fittings. Testing including thermal testing with or without insulation, marking and inspection are covered by this standard. This part does not cover flue liners operating under wet conditions.
EN 1806
Chimneys: Clay/ceramic flue blocks
Specifies the requirements for clay/ceramic flue blocks with solid walls or walls with vertical perforations including bonding and non-bonding blocks and their fittings. Non-bonding flue blocks which have insulation in the vertical perforations or attached to the outer walls are also covered by this standard. This standard specifies the performance requirements for factory-made flue blocks.
EN 1856-1
Chimneys: Requirements for metal chimneys
Specifies the performance requirements for single and multi-wall system chimney products with rigid metallic liners (chimney sections, chimney fittings and terminals, including supports) with nominal diameter up to and including 1200 mm, used to convey the products of combustion from appliances to the outside atmosphere. It also specifies the requirements for marking, manufacturer's instructions, product information and evaluation of conformity. Metal liners and metal connecting flue pipes not covered here are included in EN 1856-2:2009.
EN 1856-2
Chimneys: Metal flue liners and connecting flue pipes
Specifies the performance requirements for rigid or flexible metal flue liners, rigid metal connecting flue pipes and their fittings used to convey the products of combustion from appliances to the outside atmosphere (including their supports). Vitreous enamelled connecting flue pipes are also covered by this document. Rigid flue liners can be used as flue liners for renovation or adaptation of existing chimneys and as flue liners of custom built chimneys.

- Testing of flexible liners according to EN 1856-2 standards>
- Testing of rigid liners according to EN 1856-2 standards>
EN 13216-1
Chimneys: Test methods for system chimneys – Part 1: General test methods
This document specifies material-independent general test methods for all system chimneys. The thermal performance tests for the determination of the distance to combustible material in this standard apply only to chimney sections.
EN 1857
Chimneys: Components – Concrete flue liners
This European Standard specifies the material, dimensional and performance requirements, including methods of test, for precast concrete flue liners and fittings with or without insulation for the construction of multi-wall chimneys.
EN 1858
Chimneys: Components - Concrete flue blocks
Specifies the materials, dimensional and performance requirements for precast concrete flue blocks as defined in Clause 3 for use in chimneys. The flue blocks may be of single wall or multi wall construction. The standard does not apply to flue blocks with back ventilation.
EN 1859
Chimneys: Metal chimneys – Test methods
This European Standard describes test methods for metal chimney products.
EN 12446
Chimneys: Components – Concrete outer wall elements
Specifies the material, dimensional and performance requirements for factory made precast concrete outer wall elements for chimneys including outer wall fittings. This European Standard covers elements having up to four passages designated to accommodate a combination of flue liners and/or ventilation passages.
EN 13063-1
Chimneys: System chimneys with clay/ceramic flue liners
Specifies the requirements and test methods for multiwall soot fire resistant system chimneys, working under dry conditions, with corrosion resistance 3, with negative pressure (see EN 1443) in which the products of combustion are conveyed to the atmosphere through clay/ceramic flue liners. Marking and inspection are also covered by this standard.
EN 13063-2
Chimneys: System chimneys with clay/ceramic flue liners
This European Standard specifies the requirements and test methods for multiwall system chimneys working under wet conditions (in the following expressed as “wet chimney”) with pressure type N1, N2 or P1 according to EN 1443 and a working temperature below or equal T600 according to EN 13063-1:2005+A1, in which the products of combustion are conveyed to the atmosphere through clay/ceramic flue liners. Marking and inspection are also covered by this document.
EN 13063-3
Chimneys: System chimneys with clay/ceramic flue liners
This product standard specifies the requirements and test methods for dry (designated D) and/or wet (designated W) air flue system chimneys, including terminals in which the products of combustion are conveyed to the atmosphere through clay/ceramic flue liners and combustion air is conveyed to suitable roomsealed appliances through an air duct or an air gap.
EN 14297
Chimneys: Freeze-thaw resistance test method for chimney products
Specifies the general test method for chimney products for their freeze/thaw resistance.
EN 14989-1
Chimneys: Requirements and test methods for metal chimneys and material independent air supply ducts for roomsealed heating applications – Part 1: Vertical air/flue terminals for C6-type appliances
Specifies the requirements and test methods for positive pressure air/flue terminals with metal flue ducts for C62- and C63-type gas appliances, which convey air for combustion, and the products of combustion from appliances to the outside atmosphere.
EN 14989-2
Chimneys: Requirements and test methods for metal chimneys and material independent air supply ducts for roomsealed heating applications – Part 2: Flue and air supply ducts for room sealed appliances

Chimneys: Accessories — Part 2: Chimney fans
Covers electrically operated metal fans for chimneys that are able to create a stable positive or negative pressure for the chimney. This European Standard covers fans installed inline in the connecting flue pipe (inline fans) or mounted on the chimney outlet (exhaust fans). This standard excludes chimney cowls (Terminals with aerodynamic characteristics).
ISO/FDIS 6944-2
This part of ISO 6944 establishes a method of test in which kitchen extract ducts are required to provide fire resistance. The requirements are intended to limit the spread of fire from the duct when a fire occurs within the duct and assesses the structural integrity of the duct when a fire occurs in the area surrounding the duct.
